Peter Hucal
Managing Partner
Peter brings 10+ years of leadership and technical experience, including hands-on entrepreneurship co-founding an award-winning VC-backed startup, and multi-functional corporate experience in engineering, finance, operations, R&D, valuations, M&A due diligence, and private equity in the oil & gas and mining sector. He worked globally in northern Canada, Alaska, Nevada, Spain, and West Africa. Before joining the private sector, he served as an Army Officer in the Canadian Armed Forces.
Peter holds an MBA from the Wharton Business School, an MA in International Studies from the Lauder Institute at the University of Pennsylvania, and a Bachelor of Civil Engineering from the Royal Military College of Canada. He speaks French and English.
Garrett Johnson
Managing partner
Garrett is a seasoned leader with 10+ years of experience in building organizations from the ground up across diverse global settings. His previous roles include founding a top 10 Catholic lifestyle website, leading growth markets for an international nonprofit, and working as a strategic consultant for Boston Consulting Group. Prior to his work in the private sector, Garrett served as a missionary in Peru and Italy spearheading social impact projects for communities in South America.
Garrett holds an MBA from the Wharton Business School at the University of Pennsylvania and bachelor’s degrees in Philosophy and Theology from the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome. He speaks Spanish, Italian, French, and English.
Frederick Ohen
Operating Partner
Frederick brings 10+ years of experience in operations and finance specifically in investment banking, process improvement and business development, with a strong focus on M&A, private equity, and venture capital across developed and emerging markets. He has a proven track record of leading complex financial transactions and spearheading innovative projects in diverse sectors including technology, healthcare, real estate, and financial services.
Frederick holds an MBA from the Wharton Business School, a BA in International Political Economy from Pennsylvania State University, and certifications in Alternative Investments and Agile Project Management. He is a recipient of the prestigious Joseph Wharton Fellowship.
Mladen Djekic
VP of Business Development
Mladen brings 10+ years of leadership and management experience in small-team, high intensity / adverse environments, with a particular focus on information management and the coordination of cross-functional teams to provide strategic and operational-level advisory to senior decision makers. Prior to joining Lancaster Holdings, Mladen served for 8 years as a Naval Warfare Officer in the Royal Canadian Navy, deploying twice on overseas operations to West Africa in 2019, and northeastern Europe in 2021, with over 600 days at sea over the course of his military career.
Mladen holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics with First Class Distinction from the Royal Military College of Canada. He speaks English and French.
